Wet N Wild Pop Craze Collection

Wet N Wild  Pop Craze Collection

I've been a fan of Wet n Wild for a while starting with the trios from years back but really became a fan with the last limited edition 6 pan palettes (Drink a Glass of Shine, Sparkle till the morning and Shimmer the night away).  I was super excited when I found the new Pop Craze Trios when I stopped in Riteaid at random this week. I was afraid they would be super hard to find since I'm just now finding the 2013 LE 6 pan shadows (Going in the Wild and Nude Awakening) . I actually just found them today at the same store :).  .   I'm excited to play with these some more. For now I've just swatched and played with them just a little.

I've loved bright colors since I was a girl.  That's probably why these excite me.  I'm particularly happy to see all the pretty shades of blue.  Although full disclosure I'm not sure I'll be able to pull them off.

Enough of my exciting babbling.  Let's see some swatches :).  All of these are on my bare skin without primmer.  Most of them are rather pigmented but some are more sheer than others.

To Muse and Carouse

Not the neatest swatches ever but I think you get the idea.  The orange can be a bit sheer or a little more can be added for it to show up like the swatch above.  I love the blue and think I could actually pull off this shade.

Hard Being the It Girl

Overall this trio didn't haven't has much color payoff/pigmentation as I thought it would be.

I really like this pink but as you can see its pretty sheer.  I'm thinking it might show up a little bit more with a primmer. I think it would be good for a subtle day look which is probably missing the point of these.

I was really excited about this blue although I admit I'm sure I couldn't pull it off on the lid, or at least I'd be nervous to. I do love blue liner though so will be trying it as that.  I'm a little sad about the color pay off. I thought it would be darker.  It does get a little darker if applied heavier but not much.  I'm thinking maybe if I tried it wet.

This shade doesn't really show up on my hand but would probably be good for brow bone.

Not sure what it is but I love this blue.  This is what it looks like when extra is applied.  I'm excited to try some looks with it.

Your 15 minutes aren't up

I'm not so sure about the yellow but it seems to be a common theme in this collection.  I think I'll work up the courage to use it as a pop of color in one of my looks lol :)

Overall I'm really like this trio and I'm impressed with the color pay off of these shades.  I didn't have to pack these on at all to get the color payoff.

Three's a Party

The white is pretty sheer but some what buildable.

The red intrigues me because to be honest I LOVE red (those that know me know this and yes my car is red :) )  It has a decent color payoff but is definitely not dark red without adding extra. I think having it not as look at me red will be good though.

Pretty standard black.

I'll be honest I have no idea how I'm going to pull off any of these colors (aside from white) but I had
to have it because of the red.

I'm Seeing Triples

I love this green, it has great color pay off.  I only swiped it once or twice, didn't have to pack it on at all.

Blue had to be packed on a bit to get any color payoff.  This shade reminds me of a blue shade in the crayon box that I loved growing up.  I need to try this wet, I bet it would look better.

I can't stop looking at the green. Looking forward to playing with it.

A Regular at the Factory

The yellow is really sheer but would be good for a highlight.

Of all the blues in the collection this if my favorite.  This is little swatched, I didn't have to pack it on to make it look this way.

I'm loving the blue in this trio, I'm really looking forward to playing with it.

Final  Thoughts\

I've really enjoyed playing with these.  As you've probably guess I really love color, hence all the color changes on this post.  Some of the shadows aren't as pigmented as others but applying more heavily does help.  I think using a primmer would help also.  Overall I think they are totally worth the $2.99 a piece price.  I'm looking forward to putting together some looks. I'm more accustomed to neutrals so it will be an adventure for me. I'll make another post of some of the looks I come up with.

CoverGirl Clump Crusher

CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara promises  200% more volume and zero clumps.

(Image from CG website)

I usually prefer straight brushes since they are easier, in my opinion, to use in the corners and bottom lashes but I do think it gives volume to lashes.   I did have some trouble getting corner lashes but I was able to hold brush up and down and get them pretty well.

     Without                           With

My lashes aren't very long or full, but they do seem to be improving (I'm not treating them or anything but I have been trying to be easier on them).  I think it does live up to the claim of providing length to my lashes, I can see a noticeable boost in length.  I'm very impressed in lengthening ability especially because this mascara does not have added lash fibers.   I think the formula is good as it didn't clump much and I was able to use the brush to separate out the clumps.  I'm especially impressed the length it gave my bottom lashes. *To the left of my lashes what looks like a clump is actually where my lashes cross over--not sure why they do that but it doesn't seem to help even if I pull them apart. *

     Without                           With

After picture above isn't as clear as I would like so I decided to use this mascara while playing around with my mascara (I usually don't wear bolder colors out but I am learning to branch out more).  Small amount of clumping but considering the amount I used to discover my fine lashes I don't think its bad.  I usually have huge clumps when I do this.
     One  Coat                      Two Coats
As mentioned above there is normally a small amount of clumping due to how heavy I apply it, I can usually even it out on the second coat.  I'm really impressed how well the brush works to even out the mascara and remove clumps.

Final Thoughts

My eyes are really sensitive and I did not have any issues with this mascara.  I have to be careful what mascara I use because if they flake and get near my inner eye its likely to cause swelling, and some mascara actually makes my lashes/eyes itch.  I did not have any of those problems with this mascara, I also did not have any flaking and I do mess with my eyes a fair amount (contact wearer/suffer from allergies ).   This is in this is not a water proof formula, I usually do opt for water proof since I do wear contacts, but I didn't have any problems with this staying put.  I would definitely recommend this mascara and I will be repurchasing when it runs out.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Pretty standard drug store foundation packaging.  I must say I would prefer a squeeze tube or a pump or something. It was a little bit difficult to get it out of the bottle without making a mess. I ended up dipping in a small brush and dotting it on my face that way.

Revlon's Claim

Undetectable coverage. Unbelievable complexion. Makeup so refreshingly light it melts right in, creating a fresh, even look.

How it stacks up to the claim

I would agree that this foundation evens out my complexion well, and that's saying something because my skin has some redness and marks from past and currently acne.  It is lighter weight  than most liquid make up but not the lightest that I've tried. It is a lighter weight foundation  than Revlon's Color Stay but not as light weight  as Urban Decay's Naked Skin.   Also if you look at my Color Stay review I mention that the match of the Ivory Shade (normally my shade) doesn't match me exactly, this shade and foundation does match me well (as a fair skinned girl this is a huge victory :--)  ).

Consistency

It is a bit more liquidy than most foundations, almost runny, it was sliding off my hand a little bit in this picture.   The extra liquidity or whatever you want to call it helps it go on very evenly and easily.   I definitely like how it feels and goes on.

Coverage

I would describe it as medium coverage, as someone like me with more to cover up would need a concealer and some powder to finish off a look.  It really does cover well for a more sheer coverage foundation, so it may be enough for those of you with better skin or desiring less coverage.  I have skipped the concealer when I was in a hurry and it looked fine. In fact none of my pictures on here have concealer or powder so that may give you some what of an idea.

Before vs After Pictures

Before                                  After

Sorry for the lighting difference between the two.  My skin is freaking out a bit right now so it had more to cover.  For a medium coverage foundation I think it does well.  It evens out my complexion well without feeling heavy like some liquid foundations. The lighting is off some in the after picture but it did help even out the redness in my skin, some of which is from playing with my skin so much (I love to play in make up lol).

    Before                               After

Full Shots
I think this picture shows off how natural it looks.  It really does not look like I'm wearing foundation at all.  Even the best match of liquid foundation its usually at least some what evident that foundation is being used, but not so much with this.

I'm still working on lighting but I'm getting a little better, at least I think.

Bottom Line

For $9.99 (you can also find it on sale at most drug stores, I got mine on sale at CVS) I definitely think this version of naked make up is worth it.  I really like the feel of the make up and it is very long wearing.  Both of these pictures of above (full shots) are taken after been worn all day at work (I do wear a primmer but I wear one with all of my foundations, but I can still tell some foundations do not wear well). I also did not wear any powder and it still stayed well (I actually put this one in some what of a hurry before work one morning so I didn't take time to add powder or concealer, so it worked well for my blog post as I do not like to add extras so that an honest opinion can be given about that product).    Give it a try and let me know what you think, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

If any of you have tried it or decide to try it I would love to hear your opinions.
