Covergirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation

Covergirl Natureluxe foundation is a perfect match for me since it comes in alabaster shade. I have noticed that it scented.  I would describe it as a clean scent, its very faint and not overpowering at all, but I did want to mention that since I know some do not like scented make-up.

This is one coat of the foundation applied lightly, I love how smooth and easy it goes on.   It is super light in feeling but still provides excellent coverage.   My skin is actually doing pretty well here so there isn't much difference in the pictures, but you can see that it helped even out my skin and took out some of the redness from my acne.

Please ignore my eyeshadow, I played with several different foundations this night. I promise I fix my shadow before leaving the house :).  Since my skin is pretty clear I only applied one layer for a light coverage.  If I need more coverage I'll apply a little extra.  It does very well even when I'm experiencing my random break outs (I have no idea why I've still got acne in my 20's).

Again please ignore my silly expressions.  I promise I'm not a mad or mean person :).  The redness that show up in these pictures is the little bit of sun I got. I didn't want to put on enough foundation to cover that since I figured the little bit of color looks good, though I don't usually tan on purpose (who could be this pale if they did) lol.

Bottom Line


This foundation is perfect for me because of the match and coverage.  The coloring/match of the foundation is similar if not identical to L'oreal's true match foundation (I wear Alabaster c1 in that brand).  I would definitely recommend this foundation, as it is great for the very fair like myself.  I did also notice there are a variety of shades offered, hopefully there is one for you too :).

Neutragena Healthy Skin Foundation

Neutrogena Healthy Skin is another foundation I've found that matches my very fair skin well.

My shade is Ivory 10 which is classic Ivory.

I added a second coat of foundation to cover up my acne better. I've very impressed with the coverage.

*Side note I don't really like having my hair away from my face (I think it looks better with my hair around it) but it was easier to put on and take off make-up with it back.*

The redness in the after picture is from sun burn (very mild ) that I got earlier that day.

Please ignore the silly looks on my face. Its hard for me to take my own picture haha.  A couple of diffrerent pictures to hopefully show off the match and coverage of this foundation.  I'm very impressed with both.  I would def. recommend this foundation.

Bottom Line

I would definitely recomend this foundation, for a none alabaster shade its still a great match.  I've found alabaster shade make-up always matches me, but I'm still experimenting with Ivory shades to figure out which shades are right for me.

I've very open to any advice or suggestions on matching ivory shades etc. I'll also try to answer any questions.

Loreal True Match

Loreal True Match was my first liquid foundation  that I've actually liked.(I tried liquid foundation for years but never could find the right shade for my skin--once I found bareMinerals I stuck with it for a long time).  TM comes in cool, warm, and neutral for the perfect match.  I finally figured out that I am a cool undertone, which means I have pink undertones.  I wear the lightest shade c1 which is alabaster.

My skin is actually pretty good here but I did have some redness from the sun.  The foundation does a good job to cover this and even out my skin.

Bottom Line

I highly recommend this foundation, with so many shades there truely is a color for everyone.  For those struggling with matching I would suggest going to a department store/make-up counter to determine you skin tone type (warm, cool, or neutral) and then determine the shade of your skin (fair, light, med. etc).

bareMinerals Matte Foundation

bareMinerals Matte foundation SPF15

bareMinerals is my first love with foundations, since I've had such a hard time getting liquid foundation to match me.  When applied as shown below it has a nice full coverage look without the heavy make-up feel. I'll admit I was super skeptical when I first tried it, but I've been converted to a believer of the minerals revolution (or whatever their saying is, okay I'm just being cheesy now).


bareMinerals foundation comes in original and matte.  Matte is better for oily skin so I stick with that version.

Sorry for the dirty package.  As you can tell it gets a lot of use.

My shade is fair C10 (For porcelain skin with pink undertones).

Notice on the left side that the foundation has  evened out my skin  and toned down the redness in my skin.  My skin is pretty clear in this side (woohoo) so its not as noticeable with the coverage). The nice thing about BM is it can be applied as lightly in areas that do not need as much coverage and a bit heavier in areas that need more attention.

My acne is worse on this side of my face so the coverage is shown better on the left side.  

This is with just the matte foundation applied all over.

Concealer  (adding extra foundation in trouble spots).

To conceal problem area use a small brush to apply extra foundation to area.  

I use this brush to add extra foundation.  I blend it in with my fingers and then finish blending with my regular BM brush.

I left it unblended to show how I do it.  Just a little extra boost for "problem areas".

Mineral Veil

Sorry again for my dirty packaging.  As you can see this has been well loved. 

This is an oversize mineral veil from the outlet.  Its the same as the other mineral veil though.  I use translucent. 

Mineral Veil goes on super light (can't even feel it) but still gives that extra coverage to finish off the look. 

(Near my chin--where acne is looks unblended but its not "in real life" I'm terrible with lighting).

I'm very impressed with the coverage, as you can see above my skin is far less than perfect.

A little bright, but I like showing a variety of angles and lighting.  

Bottom Line

The hype is true bareMinerals is really as good as everyone says it is.  I highly recommend it for those with fair skin, or anyone that has a hard time getting a good foundation match. 

*Just a side note I'm showing my "imperfections" to demonstrate  the coverage of the products, its not meant as a negative towards myself I promise. Though I'm open to suggestions from my readers of products to try to clear my face up.  I've been battling acne since my teens.  *

Tarte Amazonian clay

Tarte's Amazonian Clay is a very nice full coverage foundation.  As you'll see in the picture below my skin is pretty bad from acne, yet it still covers well.

My shade is Ivory- for fair skin with pink undertones.

(I know the side pic is a bit odd but its easiest to show the acne etc that I will cover up with the make-up).

Concealer 

Maracuja Creaseless waterproof concealer

My Shade is fair.  I love this concealer, it covers my acne and under eye circles very well.

Powder

Amazonian Clay Pressed Mineral Powder in Fair 02 (for porcelain to ivory complexion)

I use the powder to seal my foundation. It very light but gives a nice finishing touch to the foundation.

Quick snapshot outside a friends house.  (This is with foundation, concealer, and powder as described above).

Before going out that night (sorry photos are out of real life order).  Foundation is actually blending on my forehead, its the lighting.  I've got a lot to learn about how to get the correct lighting. Anyway I wanted to show different types of lighting to show coverage.

This is from another night but I wanted to share it as a comparison to the other pictures.  

Not the best photo of me but I wanted to share to show how well the foundation/concealer/powder hows up.  This is after being out in 90 degree heat for 6 or so hours.  It has barely changed at all.

Bottom Line

 I'm beyond impressed with the color match, coverage, and long wearing ability of this foundation. I would definitely recommend it.
